John Harrod is a native son of Baltimore, Maryland and is the second of seven children born to the union of the late Deacon John T. Harrod Sr. and Mother Cornelia Mae Harrod. John received his formative education in the Baltimore City Public School System. After graduating from Southern High School, John took his education endeavors to Morgan State University, located in Baltimore, Maryland. In April of 1979, John was untied in Holy Matrimony to Chantay Parthenia Wright. They currently reside in Prince William County, Virginia and have five lovely children: Keyzet, Athena, Chantay, Anna and John, III; Six grandsons: Shawn, Khyree, David, Glenn, Nehemiah and Anaee; Four grandaughters: Keyshawn, Jaylen, Jazmyn and Zion; two great-granddaughters: Keyzet and Kamari; and one great-grandson: Aydyn.

     In March of 1985, John was baptized and in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and was filled with the Holy Ghost. A few years later, he received the call to Ministry that was upon his life, delivered his initial sermon and began his studies as one inspired, for the preaching and teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Because of his faithfulness to God's divine plan, Apostle Harrod was elevated to the office of Elder on March 3, 1990 when he received the mantle and was installed Pastor of the Prince of Peace African Christian Church. On Sunday, July 27, 1997, Apostle Harrod was consecrated as the Diocesan Bishop of eight churches in the state of Florida, under the leadership of Bishop James D. Nelson, Presiding Prelate of World Assemblies of Restoration. He also attended the Apostolic College of Grace in Truth and Grace Bible Institute of Dayton, Ohio with continued studies at Howard University, School of Seminary in Washington, D.C. After years of study and completed course work, Apostle Harrod received his Bachelors of Christian Education Degree, Bachelor's of Theology and Masters of Divinity Degree. On July 26, 2005, he received his Doctorate of Theology. Apostle Harrod has served his church with great dedication and distinction.

     It is extremely noteworthy that his current service in the Pastorate was the combination of several years of servant-hood in various positions within the Prince of Peace Church, establishing several churches in Central Florida and Southern Florida, preaching across the country and around the world. Apostle Harrod is presently the Pastor and Founder of The Prince of Peace Church, located in Manassas, VA. He was recently consecrated and installed as Apostle and the Chief Apostle of Empowered Destiny International (EDI), under the leadership of Apostle Floyd Nelson, Presiding Prelate of International Bible Way Churches Worldwide. He is a visionary and God has allowed him to glimpse the destiny of the progressive church. With this heightened spiritual consciousness, Apostle Harrod has as his focus, excellence in the ministry to God, individual & spiritual maturity, corporate spiritual prosperity for the congregation of which he has been called to serve as a desire to see all the lost souls of this world be saved.
